FORT PIERCE, Florida - If you’re reading this, then, like myself, you have developed online friendships. We probably even know a lot of the same people. There’s no geographic requirement to having coincidental acquaintances because online takes us everywhere that friends can be found. Do you know Craig? Right, nice guy. Craig is often helpful but he does seem to attract a bad crowd. How about Jeeves? Yeah, I haven’t seen him in a while either. Do I know Angie? Oh yes, I know Angie. In fact, and maybe you feel the same way, Angie is like family to me. If you are of the same opinion I guess that makes you family too!! Welcome to The St. Lucie Appraisal Company and the rest of the Angie’s List family.

As an automobile, personal property and diminished value appraiser, most of my business comes either through recommendations or from people finding an article that corresponds with whatever they were searching for. If you Google “auto diminished value appraiser” you’ll find The St. Lucie Appraisal Company in the search results. We’re usually on page 1 right under the appraisal companies who had to pay Google to be on page 1. Reviews are one of the things that can cause a web site to be highly ranked by the search engines. We have been pleased to read only positive comments about our service and feel it has been a contributing factor in our success.

Everybody can agree that contractors and other vendors do standout work for members of their own families. We feel the same about every customer who comes to us from Angie’s List for an auto diminished value report or other type of automobile, truck or heavy equipment appraisal. That’s why The St. Lucie Appraisal Company is the most highly-rated automobile appraiser on Angie’s List – great reviews. That’s not to say we don’t do excellent work for customers who review us on Yelp, Insiderpages or YP.com because we do. It’s just that…well, you know how it is with family.

ESTABLISHING THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF A TRUCK, TRACTOR, TRAILER, RV OR FARM EQUIPMENT IN A DIVORCE PROCEEDING IN FLORIDA

ESTABLISHING FAIR MARKET VALUE

Establishing the fair market value of a truck, tractor, trailer, RV or item of farm equipment isn't as simple as evaluating an automobile. The primary reason for this is that comparable items are much more difficult to find. In addition, the market for such vehicles fluctuates according to economic conditions. In Florida, for instance, a poor growing season or a lack of funding for road construction projects can lower the value of tractors and specialty trailers by as much as twenty five percent in a matter of months. Fuel prices have an adverse effect on not only trucks but on recreational vehicles as well. In cases of bankruptcy or divorce, valuation hearings are held to determine fair market values of specialized vehicles. It is important that the appraiser and his report are found to be credible in the eyes of the court. For the expert that is hired to perform the evaluation, the weight of the evidence is impacted by even the most minor of errors or omissions. Valuation hearings rely on exhibits such as fair market value appraisals so it is critical that the expert's report is factual and complete. The expert should be able to give full and thorough answers to questions concerning the subject vehicles. When the magistrate, trustee or mediator can trust the data provided, favorable judgments will follow.
In most states, any appraiser who performs an appraisal for insurance purposes must be licensed as an independent adjuster or appraiser. This credential far outweighs any certification provided by private organizations. An appraiser with a license from any state holds a better credential than "certified" or other designations used by appraisers. Licensed professionals in every state are bound by regulations which must be adhered to in order to continue in business. Other certifications require only yearly dues be paid to be accredited. From a court's perspective, state licensure outweighs any other appraiser credentials.

HIRING AN APPRAISER FOR DISPUTE RESOLUTION IN THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF A CAR, TRUCK OR RV

DISPUTE RESOLUTION IN THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF A CAR, TRUCK OR RV

FORT PIERCE, Florida - Most cases involving differences of opinions over the fair market value of motor vehicles involve insurance companies. However, these situations can also arise in a bankruptcy or divorce proceeding. Disputes are not uncommon, especially in the case of restored antique cars, custom cars and luxury RVs, because everyone has a different way of looking at things. In the case of a total loss, insurers generally stick to their CCC evaluation figures. In the real world, though, fair market value of a car, truck, motorcycle or RV can be quite dissimilar. Therefore, alternate methods for assigning correct values to vehicles are required. Heavy trucks and trailers are other examples of vehicles whose values are commonly misquoted. Resolving a difference of opinion calls for a certain amount of flexibility on both sides of the table. Keeping these matters out of expensive litigation is one goal. Reaching a settlement that is equitable is another. Obtaining an evaluation report from a licensed appraisal company with experience in these situations is an important step toward a resolution that, hopefully, satisfies all parties involved.
Insurance companies are primarily concerned with containing costs, this much goes without saying. Vehicle owners, on the other hand, sometimes feel that they deserve to be compensated commensurate with the amount of money they've spend either restoring, customizing or upgrading their cars, trucks or recreational vehicles. Finding common ground isn't difficult as long as both parties concede that fair market value will be the determining factor. An appraiser's job is to look at the facts impartially and to gather data from all available sources he deems to be reliable. Using a book value can be as inappropriate as using the asking price of a comparable vehicle. Appraiser discretion is a valuable skill that can bring the picture into focus and help to resolve what may have once seemed like an impossible situation.

AUTOMOBILE APPRAISER FOR A BANKRUPTCY IN ALL 50 STATES - ASSIGNING A CORRECT FAIR MARKET VALUE IS THE KEY TO A PROPER APPRAISAL

AUTOMOBILE APPRAISER FOR A BANKRUPTCY IN ALL 50 STATES - ASSIGNING A CORRECT FAIR MARKET VALUE IS THE KEY TO A PROPER APPRAISAL

FORT PIERCE, Florida - In a bankruptcy proceeding, the court-appointed trustee routinely assigns a value on your vehicle based on published resources like the blue book or NADA guide without regard for the condition of the car or truck itself. Some bankruptcy attorneys are diligent in advising their clients to protect their important assets but many are not so it is up to you to do your due diligence. As an automobile appraiser, it is my job to inspect your car in order to determine its true fair market value in the real world. That means, essentially, that I consider every nick and scratch, all damages to the interior, glass, trim, wheels and tires as well as every mechanical problem that necessitates repairs. These include malfunctioning radios, heaters, A/C units, check engine lights and other defective items that serve to devalue the vehicle. Repairs from previous collisions are also, of course, important to consider as a bad Carfax also makes a car worth less in the eyes of a potential used car buyer.

The cost for an automobile appraisal is $175 per car with service in all 50 states. Hopefully, it will provide you with the means for retaining your vehicle in order to begin the process of rebuilding your credit without the worry of having to lose the means of transportation you depend on.

COURT CERTIFIED AUTOMOBILE DIMINISHED VALUE EXPERT WITNESS QUALIFICATIONS

COURT CERTIFIED AUTOMOBILE DIMINISHED VALUE EXPERT WITNESS QUALIFICATIONS

In order to qualify as a court certified diminished value expert, one must have testified as an expert witness in a court of law. Whether the automobile diminished value case was heard in a county, state or federal court, an appearance and subsequent acceptance as an expert in the field provides an appraiser with the necessary credentials to be so recognized. We have testified in civil trials involving auto diminished value both in person and via teleconference. As a court certified diminished value expert and licensed independent adjuster and appraiser, our opinions are a valuable tool in helping claimant’s attorneys present effective arguments to show the existence and amounts of diminished value. As automobile diminished value settlements can reach into the tens of thousands of dollars, providing irrefutable testimony is crucial to success. The St. Lucie Appraisal Company is perhaps the only automobile diminished value appraiser that takes the time to establish the amount a vehicle has lost after collision repairs by obtaining multiple dealer quotes. Insurance company defense attorneys only offer reports based on formulas or generic auto auction results that pale by comparison. We do the work and the results speak for themselves. It is for that reason that insurance adjusters downgrade our automobile diminished value reports far less than those of other independent appraisers in the field.

The best possible result for someone making an automobile diminished value claim is to receive a fair settlement offer without the necessity of going through a civil trial. Insurance company adjusters are knowledgeable enough to recognize whether a claimant’s independent appraisal has a chance to succeed in front of a judge or a mediator.  Diminished value reports based on formulas such as State Farm’s Rule 17-C and other similar methods that use modifiers are difficult to understand – both for a lay man and a judge. And the use of automobile auction results to determine a particular vehicle’s diminished value has been widely recognized as being too generic. Those types of short cut methods are the reason The St. Lucie Appraisal Company is called upon so often to offer second opinions. Nobody should have to pay for more than one diminished value appraisal but, unfortunately, that is sometimes what it takes to obtain a fair settlement from an insurance company.

The St. Lucie Appraisal Company is proud to offer automobile diminished value reports that rely on the actual opinions of new car dealers as to how much value your car has lost after accident repairs. If you own a Lexus and live in Florida, your report will contain quotes from six Lexus dealers in and around Florida. Same goes for California, Ohio and any other state. We are licensed appraisers which is the most valuable credential in the eyes of the court. Other appraisers that advertise themselves as “certified” or “accredited” simply belong to pay-for-membership organizations. And in addition to providing the most comprehensive automobile diminished value reports, as a court certified diminished value expert witnesses, hiring us furnishes claimants and their attorneys with a fully reliable product.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT TRUCK AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT APPRAISER FOR FINANCING OR INSURANCE

CHOOSING THE RIGHT TRUCK AND HEAVY EQUIPMENT APPRAISER FOR FINANCING OR INSURANCE

FORT PIERCE, Florida - Many companies providing financing or insurance for trucks and heavy equipment have strict requirements regarding the appraisal of vehicles. A bank or credit union lending money toward the purchase of a dump truck or over the road tractor will ask for an inspection by a licensed appraiser before committing funds toward the purchase. Likewise, insurance underwriters look for documentation before providing coverage. Bankruptcies and loan defaults among owner-operators of trucks and construction equipment make lenders and insurers extremely selective about who they do business with. Is The St. Lucie Appraisal Company a company that banks and insurers choose to provide valuation services?
Selecting a company to perform a truck appraisal is typically the job of the prospective buyer or policyholder. As absurd as it sounds, the typical commercial lender or insurance broker is clueless when it comes to finding a licensed independent appraiser. Often the vehicle owner is asked to locate an independent appraiser because banking and insurance managers don't possess  Rolodexes any more. When lenders or brokers do hire us, it is often as a result of a Google search. What the vehicle owner should know, however, is that once the appraisal is given to the bank or insurer, representatives from those institutions will then perform their due diligence and query the appraiser as to how he obtained his valuation figures.
After making certain that the independent appraiser is properly licensed, investigate for yourself their expertise and any reviews from past clients. When their appraisal is placed under the microscope of the insurer or lender, if their answers don't meet the bank's or insurance company's criteria, you have wasted your money on a worthless document.

BUYING AN ANTIQUE, CLASSIC OR CUSTOM CAR IN FLORIDA? OBTAIN A CONDITION REPORT FIRST.

BUYING AN ANTIQUE, CLASSIC OR CUSTOM CAR IN FLORIDA?
FORT PIERCE, Florida - Looking to buy an antique, classic or custom car in Florida? There are many different types of automobiles available here and, when you see photos of them in Auto Trader, Hemmings, eBay or other automotive site, many of them look like they are in near-mint condition. As an appraiser who furnishes condition reports to out-of-state customers, the stories I can relate about the true condition of some of these cars after I perform my inspections might not surprise you. Those who will be surprised, however, are the dummies who buy cars sight unseen without having them inspected by an appraiser or, at least, a mechanic or body man. Rust, of course, is the predominant culprit but water intrusion, bent frames, and blown motors are common defects that sellers fail to point out in their advertisements. Unfortunately, once the car has been transported to Ohio, Kansas or Idaho, buyers have little recourse except to lick their wounds and hopefully gain some small measure of wisdom. Paying $225.00 just to be told that the pristine 1966 Corvette you were planning to buy is a piece of junk is unpleasant. But signing for a $75,000.00 patchwork Vette after it rolls off the transport surpasses that unpleasantness by miles.
A sound piece of advice is not to be penny-wise and pound-foolish. Being the sucker on the receiving end of a scam, perpetrated by dealers and private sellers alike, is completely unnecessary. Hire someone to evaluate the cars condition before you buy it.

1950 MERCURY CUSTOM COUPE

A 1950 Mercury Custom Coupe equipped with a 454 engine, a 700R4 Overdrive transmission, a 9" Rear, Air Ride Suspension, A/C, Power Windows, Doors, Seats and Trunk, Two-Tone Paint, Custom Interior and an upgraded stereo sold for $70,000.00.
